I love ideas for stories, including ideas about where you think the characters should go next. I firmly believe that all sources of inspiration are good.

As for questions which are more specifically about my fan fiction, a lot of the answers can be found on my related blog, Barking Up the Muse Tree.

I cover the writing process, inspirations, spotlight certain creations, provide character portraits and story reviews (like a lot of writers, I am my own worst critic), foci on my treatment of canon concepts, and much more.

This even includes sometimes blogging in a character’s own voice.

Times Change

This blog is over a decade old and my writing has changed as have my goals.

As my fellow fan fic writers saw coming from a mile away, I was already writing a lot of original stuff. So, it was time to take the training wheels off and start to write in my own universe(s).

And this means that one thing that happens is you start to realize that you would rather write something that can make you money (no matter how little) versus something that, by definition, never can.

You also get much more serious about things like editing, grammar, style, flow, plot, characterizations, and more. When it is unequivocally, 100% your baby, you want it to be great.

But I have nostalgia for the older stuff. That is why this blog still exists at all. However, things will be changing. One of these days.
